N.Technology team boss Mauro Sipsz hopes that James Thompson’s performance this year will convince a manufacturer to approach the team for next year.
Thompson finished third in the World Touring Car Championship standings behind BMW’s Andy Priaulx and SEAT’s Yvan Muller, in an Alfa Romeo 156 that has hardly been developed for two years.
The Italian manufacturer gradually reduced its support for the team since the 2005 season, and now that Alfa’s three-year commitment with WTCC organisers is over, N.Technology are without a project for next year.
“For us to finish third in the championship just reinforces the quality and offering of my team,” said Sipsz.
“This year we have had the smallest of budget, virtually zero testing but as usual the N.Technology commitment and professionalism has shone through.
“I am sure that this year’s result will ensure any automotive manufacturer considering a motorsport programme will think of us.”
Thompson is also keen for the squad to be picked up by another manufacturer, as he believes that they are capable of great things.
“This team is incredible,” he told autosport.com in September.

Mattias Ekstrom says that he will be attacking at this year’s Race of Champions as he bids to defend the title he won in 2006.
The DTM champion won the individual Race of Champions event in Paris last year after a lacklustre season, but he returns a year later with after his best year since 2004 with Audi.
The Swedish driver said that while the event is a bit of fun for the end of the season, he will be trying as hard as ever when he is out on the track.
“The Race of Champions is one of the best places to go if you’re looking for drivers with a bit of experience and success,” said Ekstrom.

Tony Kanaan finished sixth in his one-off Formula Nippon appearance at Suzuka at the weekend.
The Brazilian took part in the Japanese championship’s final round due to his ties with Honda, finishing sixth having started 18th on the grid in the 21-car field.
“I was pleased at the end of the day, after all I gained 12 positions in the race, and I really liked Suzuka,” said Kanaan, who had never driven a Nippon car before the first practice session of the weekend.
The former IndyCar Series champion added that he spoke with Formula One drivers Felipe Massa and Rubens Barrichello about the Suzuka circuit, which was the regular home of the Japanese Grand Prix until this year.
He also said that he would like to do the event again next year, providing he could prepare well enough for it.
“The standing start was especially difficult, since I hadn’t done one in 12 years,” he said, “but I’d like to be back next year, just with more time to practice.”
